Here, the hoopoe is captured in a more radiant spirit. Woven by Nadra, these birds feel playful, framed by blossoms that echo the light in the sky-blue field. Across cultures, the hoopoe bears many meanings: a bringer of wisdom, a guide, a creature of light. This tapestry shows them in full, joyful colour.
The tapestry was woven freehand at the Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center, where no sketches are ever used. The leather body was then hand saddle-stitched by Anette, giving the art a durable, protective home. It is a piece that feels both luminous and strong.
