This tapestry tells a story in contrasts. A lone, dark hoopoe stands among a gathering of white egrets, woven on a deep blue field. The composition calls to the eye: a solitary messenger amid companions, a symbol of presence within a community.
Woven by Halawa at the Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center, the piece is created from her imagination, without repetition or pre-sketching. The bag itself was hand saddle-stitched by Anette, using full-grain Belgian leather to provide a strong, enduring form. The result is a calm reflection on solitude and belonging.
