Our Artists.

At FÅGELBO, every bag carries the heart and hands of the people who make it. Our artists are the storytellers behind each piece, preserving traditions and shaping new ones.

Anette — Saddler & Leather Artist

Lykkely Saddlery · Haraldsted, Denmark

With calm hands and a deep respect for tradition, Anette transforms full-grain leather into pieces that are built to last a lifetime.

She began her journey as a saddler in 2005, apprenticing with some of Denmark’s last master craftsmen. Her workshop, filled with century-old machines and tools passed down from legendary saddlers, is where enduring tradition meets a bright, inventive spirit.

Her work is rooted in the discipline of the original saddlestitch — a slow, precise hand-stitching method known for its strength and beauty. Every cut, seam, and edge is shaped with patience and intention.

Before founding her workshop, Anette spent over two decades as a graphic designer — a heritage that shows in her eye for balance and harmony. Today, she brings that same care to the pieces she creates for FÅGELBO: leatherwork with purpose and presence.

“Leatherwork is a durable craft built on very old tradition… it is a pleasure to understand the material and create something that evolves with its user.” — Anette

Rwayda — Textile Artist (Embroidery)

Soran · Kurdistan Region of Iraq

Rwayda discovered embroidery by chance — a passing video online that sparked something deep within her. What began as curiosity soon became devotion: countless quiet hours spent stitching fine details, building worlds from colour and thread.

Each piece she creates is full of patience and care, carrying the stillness she finds in the process. Alongside her work as a teacher, embroidery has become her way to preserve beauty.

“I lose myself in the details — that’s where the magic hides.” — Rwayda

Gyhan — Textile Artist (Tapestry)

Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center · Harraniya, Egypt

Gyhan has been weaving since childhood, joining the Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center at just twelve years old.

Her tapestries are full of strength and boldness — scenes of craftsmen at work, disappearing trades, and vibrant gardens where the plants twist into shapes that are entirely her own. She approaches each new piece with fearless pride, never hesitating to try something complex or unfamiliar.

Through her work, she preserves memories of skills and worlds that are fading, while creating something entirely new — alive with colour, movement, and imagination.

“If an idea feels impossible, I know I must try it.” — Gyhan

Nadra — Textile Artist (Tapestry)

Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center · Harraniya, Egypt

Nadra’s weavings carry a quiet elegance — scenes from everyday life, soft gardens, still moments.

She joined the center as a young girl, and grew into one of its most respected artists, admired for her calm resilience and her ability to keep creating no matter what life brings. Her work is delicate yet strong, always carrying a sense of serenity.

Even as a mother of five, she continues to explore new ideas, her pieces marked by harmony and grace.

“Peace has its own strength. I try to weave it into everything.” — Nadra

Halawa — Textile Artist (Tapestry)

Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center · Harraniya, Egypt

Halawa’s name means sweetness, and her work radiates just that — joyful, intricate tapestries filled with birds, plants, and tiny creatures alive with colour.

She grew up surrounded by weaving, following her four older sisters into the center. What sets her work apart is its lightness and harmony — she has an extraordinary instinct for colour and composition, shaped not by formal training but by a lifetime of living inside art.

There’s a warmth to her pieces, a quiet delight that makes even the smallest details feel alive.

“The world is full of small wonders — I love giving them a place to live.” — Halawa

Lukáš — Wildlife Filmmaker

@lukaspichvideo · Czechia

Lukáš Pich is a filmmaker and keen observer of nature. Wandering through the forests, meadows, and hillsides of Czechia with a camera in hand, he captures the quiet beauty of wildlife in its natural habitat. His focus is on short, intimate encounters—glimpses of the creatures that live alongside us yet often go unseen.

His work reminds us that wild animals are not distant, unreachable beings, but our neighbours — living in the landscapes we share. Through his lens, the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and fleeting moments are preserved as timeless stories of coexistence.

“The mysterious creatures of the forests, meadows and hillsides are not unreachable mirages — they are our friendly neighbours. And I want to show them all to you, so that you love them as much as I do.” — Lukáš
